AMURTEL

AMURTEL is an international NGO that cares for those who society has abandoned. Destitute women, orphans, the handicapped, victims of war and natural calamities, crippling disease, the elderly - all need loving care and a chance to change their fate.

AMURTEL’s programs provide a healthy and nurturing environment that meets the needs of all individuals. It provides education, training, and motivation to them, encouraging and guiding them along a new path of self-reliance, self-determination, and self-esteem.

Tropical storm Ketsana ripped through Philippines and left more than 250 people dead and close to half a million displaced.  Several provinces including the capital Manila received a month’s rainfall in a few hours which created severe flooding.

AMURT & AMURTEL volunteers responded within hours by serving hot meals and water as well as distributing clothes to affected people in the Talon and Marikina suburbs of Quezon City in Metro Manila. The operation continues and donations are accepted.
