More than one million people was cut off by floods in northern India in August 2008. Authorities struggling to get aid to them. AMURT & AMURTEL volunteers set up 10 relief camps covering the districts of Madhepura, Saharsa, Araria, Purnea, Katihar Bhagalpur and surrounding areas. The teams distributed food and non-food items to more than 10,000 people for several weeks and  provided medical care to the most vulnerable.
