OUR PROGRAMS

EGYPT/GAZA RELIEF

AMURTEL volunteers are working in Egypt to support Palestinians seeking shelter from the conflict and violence in Gaza. We also provide support for those living in displacement camps within Gaza and surviving in unimaginable conditions.

Ghana

AMURTEL has been active in Ghana since 1984, providing a variety of programs, including schools, homes, libraries, clinics, and midwifery training initiatives. Education, safe shelters, healthcare, nutritious food, and access to critical information, are offered to those facing hardship and poverty.

GREECE

Since the peak of the migration crisis in 2015, AMURTEL has worked to create safe women’s spaces for highly vulnerable refugee/migrant mothers and infants from pregnancy through two years after birth.

Haiti

AMURTEL has had a presence in Haiti for over 20 years, partnering with local people to provide a children’s home, schools, clinics, literacy programs, reforestation initiatives, micro credit finance, and women’s leadership programs.

India

Uma Nivas, a women’s community development program in West Bengal, was founded in 1978, with the goal of creating education, health care, and employment opportunities for women and girls.

KENYA

Abha Light Foundation (ALF) has been working in villages throughout Kenya since 1998 to provide economically viable, affordable, and effective primary health care to the poor.

Mongolia

The Lotus Children’s Center works with vulnerable children and families in Ulan Bator to provide the basic human rights of shelter, food, education, and healthcare.

Nigeria

AMURTEL, working closely with its partner AMURT, arrived in Ebonyi State, Nigeria, in 2010 to extend primary health care services to underserved communities.

Peru

AMURTEL Peru has been working in Paraiso Alto, a neighborhood on the outskirts of Lima since 2001.

ROMANIA

The AMURTEL Family children’s home opened in 1995 and has since served 20 children that are now adults, many with families of their own.

THAILAND

Baan Unrak's primary mission is to provide housing, food, education, emotional support and opportunities to vulnerable children on the Thai-Myanmar border.
