GIFT Of HOPE – GAZA 2025
As people look forward to 2025, those of Gaza have little to celebrate. They are fighting off utter misery and despair without sufficient water, food, or medicine, facing end of winter’s biting cold without enough clothing or blankets, and in makeshift tents. Compound this with the resumption of aerial attacks and a ground invasion, the psychological trauma of war, and the grief over the loss of homes, jobs, and loved ones. They have an overwhelming sense that the world has forgotten and abandoned them.
Our AMURTEL team in Cairo wants to bring a gift of Hope to people in Al Mawasi Displacement Camp, Gaza. A bag of fresh vegetables currently costs about $35. Our local volunteers are ready to purchase, transport, pack, and distribute food bags to families living there. Families are extremely grateful for these life-saving efforts. Perhaps the most precious gift that we convey, beyond the life-supporting nutrition, the realization that there are people who care, that we love them, and stand with them in their bitter hardship and suffering.
Please join us by your generous support. We have no paid staff and no overhead. We are a small, family-style operation. What you give goes directly to the needy people of Gaza. Our heartfelt Thanks!
OCTOBER 2ND, 2024
AMURTEL volunteers have staged in Cairo, Egypt as they partner with other agencies to bring aid to Palestinians facing starvation and untreated medical emergencies in Gaza. It is challenging to find ways to get goods into Gaza but we are determined to continue this effort as the need is so dire.
Our volunteers are also focusing on supporting those families who have been able to escape Gaza and are now faced with the daunting challenge of settling in Cairo.
AMURTEL continues to put together much needed Dignity packages for Palestinian women, source and purchase medical supplies, and offer psychology support for the many who have experienced unimaginable emotional trauma.
Please consider supporting this ongoing effort. The situation for thousands here continues to deteriorate and we must do something to help.
Hadeel arrived in Areesh, and distributed the AMURTEL mother and baby bags. Infant formula and diapers (very difficult to find in poor areas and very expensive for Gazans with no income) soap, sanitary pads for mothers. Hadeel herself is from Gaza and works tirelessly to save the Gazans in Areesh from poverty and distress. She is a teacher and dreams to start her own school for Gazan children there in Areesh.
